• Der Bestandsaufbau einer Bibliothek ist abhängig von dem Profil der Trägerorganisation, welcher sie dient und von den Rahmenbedingungen, vor allem dem knappen Raum. Beim Bestandsabbau, sprich: dem Aussondern, sollten dies ebenfalls die Kriterien sein, nach denen gehandelt wird. Wenn genügend Raum vorhanden ist, sollte nicht ausgesondert werden, falls der Platz knapp und Aussonderung notwendig wird, sollte man so vorgehen, dass das Profil gewahrt bleibt, der Arbeitsaufwand gering bleibt und die ausgesonderten Bestände möglichst sinnvoll weitergegeben werden.

By the diminishing of collections one should exercise the same rules as for collection building, the librarian should act after the same criterions. If there is enough space, one should not deacquisit stock. Otherwise act in the manner that the profile of the collection is conserved. After depreciation, the withdrawals should passed over in a sensefull manner to other libraries.
